When there’s never a right time to buy

#29 in a series of true experiences in real estate
October 1993, Hills Newspapers

A woman we worked with said she was ready to buy. She lived in a house on a fairly busy street and the noise was driving her crazy.

She looked at a house of houses. None would do. They cost too much, the bedrooms were too small, the kitchen needed work, the roof would have to be replaced.

One day, just like many days before, she came home and opened her windows and the noise from the street was too much. She had heard it for as long as she was going to.

The time was now right. She bought a house that very week.

For every buyer, there is a right time. The right time for you may be only moments from now or it may be never. You could try to hurry yourself up, but it won’t feel right. So what do you do while you’re waiting?

Maybe nothing. You could just wait until you know it’s right to move ahead.
